• This photograph was taken of the photographer Jack Lowe who visited every Lifeboat station in the UK and Republic of Ireland which started in Norfolk in Cromer. He wanted to photograph the station crew using a process called wet plate collodion which is over 100 years old using an equally as old camera. This was taken looking through his camera of him with the pier and theatre in the background. I wanted to get an idea of how he saw the world through his camera.
• Southview Avenue, Peterborough...This scheme is the result of an ambitious 2 year land assembly programme comprising rear gardens, derelict workshops, a garage site and disused church hall. As part of the site acquisition process Longhurst & Havelok Homes also purchased 7 un-modernised terrace houses in the surrounding area; these have all been fully refurbished and brought back into use for Intermediate Rent with.funding from Peterborough City Council. ..Following strong support from the City Council and the HCA, Larkfleet Homes commenced work on the 42 unit development in early 2010 to deliver a range of affordable house types and tenures in an area of high housing demand. Using off-site construction methods the site was completed in just 12 months to meet funding deadlines...The innovative contemporary house design provides ground floor bedrooms and bathroom with open plan living space on the upper floor, leading to a raised decking area with carport under. This layout allows a viable density of family homes to be achieved within a pleasant and well designed environment...All the homes will achieve Code level 3 using highly insulted timber frames, a whole house heat recovery and ventilation system and sustainable materials such as Thermowood cladding..

 • The ancient english tradition of Wassailing at Kenninghall wood over the weekend by the Green Man and the Lord of Misrule trying to wake the spirits of the trees from the depths of winter.
The wassailing custom comes from the Old English expression 'waes hael', meaning 'be in good health'. It is an ancient ritual which was held for many years in January in apple growing regions where it was believed that driving out the evil spirits by banging pots and pans and shouting to wake the tree spirits, would help to ensure a good apple harvest.

 • This was taken at the Star Gazing festival which was held at Kelling Heath holiday park. I spent most of the afternoon there covering people preparing for the night ahead, setting up their telescopes. Some were using basic telescopes and used their knowledge of the night sky to know where to look. Whilst others were using every conceivable piece of technology to map out the heavens with computers, motorised platforms to track the stars and cameras to photograph celestial bodies that are virtually undetectable to the naked eye. I knew what sort of picture that I wanted t get which would involve getting as much of the sky as possible and to get star trails. I had to experiment for a few of the first pictures trying various shutter speeds and apertures until I found one that worked. The exposure was for just over 13 minutes. The one thing I didn't expect was the movement of Andrew Robertson with his telescope in the foreground which adds to the picture.
