Southview Avenue, Peterborough...This scheme is the result of an ambitious 2 year land assembly programme comprising rear gardens, derelict workshops, a garage site and disused church hall. As part of the site acquisition process Longhurst & Havelok Homes also purchased 7 un-modernised terrace houses in the surrounding area; these have all been fully refurbished and brought back into use for Intermediate Rent with.funding from Peterborough City Council. ..Following strong support from the City Council and the HCA, Larkfleet Homes commenced work on the 42 unit development in early 2010 to deliver a range of affordable house types and tenures in an area of high housing demand. Using off-site construction methods the site was completed in just 12 months to meet funding deadlines...The innovative contemporary house design provides ground floor bedrooms and bathroom with open plan living space on the upper floor, leading to a raised decking area with carport under. This layout allows a viable density of family homes to be achieved within a pleasant and well designed environment...All the homes will achieve Code level 3 using highly insulted timber frames, a whole house heat recovery and ventilation system and sustainable materials such as Thermowood cladding..
